2021 Ohio State commit officially a five-star prospect

Rivals released its five-star recruits for the 2021 cycle, and a future Buckeye made the cut

It is a quiet time for college football recruiting with the Dead Period beginning on Feb. 2 and lasting until the beginning of March. However, don’t think for one second that this means there will be no Ohio State recruiting news this month.

In fact, on Monday the Buckeyes learned that a verbal commit of theirs in the 2021 class earned a fifth star in the updated Rivals rankings, as well as some of their targets.

The lone verbal commit among Rivals 14 five-star prospects was defensive end Jack Sawyer (Pickerington, OH/Pickerington North) who was slotted at No. 8.

ESPN is the worst, but damn if those rankings aren’t insane! The talent coming is on another level, haven’t seen so much talent following after another since Bama, and USC in the early 2000s
