DE Jack Sawyer (All B1G)

Rewatching the spring game and yeah I thought Sawyer looked a little light. He's a freshman though and I'd bet he plays near 255 this year and 265 by the time he's out of here.
I was saying, seeing him up close and personal, he's got to be at least 255 now. Kid is big. If JT is 30 pounds heavier and can move like he does, Chase Young has serious competition

No doubt.. IMO JTT has a ways to go to make that a very solid 275 though. If he wanted JTT could easily pack on 30 pounds and become a dominant 3 tech or if he just stays the same weight and tones up (would then add speed) he could be a dominant rush end.

Just glad the dudes on our side though!

Just sayin': There's nothing wrong with playing inside on the DL. The consensious best defensive player in the NFL is an interior defensive lineman who is currently playing with a 6 year $135M contract.

Oh for sure and IMO that's where his body will take him more than likely. Just not sure if we'll see that switch this first year or not. JTT will have to try really hard to stay in that 265-275 IMO because with Mick and an all you can eat (of good foods) this young man could probably get to 300 easy without losing much speed. Personally I think he's a devastating 3 tech.

I'm with you all the way. I think he starts off at DE and I think he can excel there. Plus you have to think the staff told him he'll at least start there. But I think he'll naturally grow into a 3-tech as well. I'm thinking of an Adolphus Washington like progression, but with higher upside. Either way, one of them good problems. JTT and Sawyer combined will be scary no matter where they line up.

My comparison for him inside has always been Warren Sapp. Can you imagine a talent like that inside getting to the QB and still being able to be stout against the run? Not to mention Sawyer tearing up the outside

That only used to happen in Bama.

It was explained to me that a star running back who grew up poor getting pulled over in Birmingham at 2am in a Cadillac Escalade is just out for a test drive. This was after the explanation that he was borrowing a family member’s car fell through. I don’t remember the details, but the person doing the explaining was very confident that they held the moral high ground. I’m sure it was legit.
