It's OT and we can move to another thread but I don't feel like we're losing 4 starters necessarily as Boren was playing half the game or more for a good chunk of the season and I have no worries about him as starter, and I saw Elflein perform very, very well in both the scUM and CCG games. It was a more a connection of Slade and Taylor being developmental guys that I feel very confident in with their respective line coaches.
@RivalsFriedman: Hearing that Darius Slade, who decommitted from #Nebraska last night, has committed to #MichiganState
Slade told NJ.com on Thursday that he was aware the Spartans will be hosting another defensive end this week on a visit, so it's possible that may have triggered him to fill one of the final spots in the Michigan State Class of 2014.
"… they have a d-end taking a visit there this weekend,'' Slade told NJ.com, "and I hear he is a big name kid. So I don't know if he's gonna commit this weekend or what the situation may be."
Wait, I thought Dantonio didn't go after committed recruits?
I see an NFL first rounder and potentially a number 1 overall recruit in the big ten in 2014, assuming his grades are in order, puts in the work to fill in his frame, and great DL coaching. I hope our folks have not given up. If he stays in msu, good for them, but I'd rather see him on this side.
We will be fine of course, but DL recruiting in 2014 is a grade C at best, so far. We had an event with Holley and then the loss of Vrabel seemed to kill the momentum going into the final stretch. I don't think Ohio State has one on the roster that can be a dominant game-takeover DLman. They will all get better, but was hoping to land a couple of huge ones in the middle this year to build around for few years. Maybe next year.Yeah, you may be reaching a little man. Osu is fine with or without him
Do you mean currently on the roster, or in this class? Because at the very least we have one in bosa, possibly 2 or 3 more.We will be fine of course, but DL recruiting in 2014 is a grade C at best, so far.
