DE Chase Young (Nagurski, Hendricks, Bednarik, Silver Football, NFL DROY, New Orleans Saints)

It was tough to choose between Young and Khalan Laborn here, but Young's all-star game performance had more of an impact on the game itself. Young has always been super athletic, and some five-star offensive tackles got a taste of how unblockable he can be during the Army All-American Bowl. The most impressive thing about Young's postseason performance was how well-rounded he has become. The question surrounding the Ohio State commit was about his strength at the point of attack against elite-level competition. DeMatha plays high-level competition every year, but the prospects Young faced in San Antonio were on another level and he thrived.

FINAL RIVALS 2017 PROSPECT RANKINGS PUT FIVE OHIO STATE COMMITS IN TOP-25, CHASE YOUNG NOW A FIVE-STAR AND MORE

Defensive end commit Chase Young is one of six new 5-star players in the 2017 crop of talent. A dominant performance in San Antonio at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl cemented the 6-foot-5, 250-pounder's claim as the highest-rated commit Ohio State's 2017 class. Young is now ranked No. 8 overall, jumping one spot ahead of linebacker and early enrollee Baron Browning, laying another layer to the claim that he should have been a 5-star on the Rivals board much sooner.

“Young has steadily risen up the rankings over the past year, and he has developed into a versatile defensive end who can rush the passer and make plays in the open field, Rivals.com Mid-Atlantic Analyst Adam Friedman wrote. “The Ohio State commit has outstanding athleticism, and his speed and balance make it hard for big offensive linemen to stay in front of him. The biggest question about Young was his strength at the point of attack. At the Army All-American Bowl, he proved he has the strength to make plays against the run as well.”

Still can't believe this dude will be suiting up in S & G. This guy is a MONSTER talent.

It's absolutely not a stretch to say he could possibly be a part of one of the all time great D Lines at tOSU when you start looking at the '16, '17 and potential '18 D Line classes loaded with talent for coach Mick and Johnson to mold. Yikes.
