Important fact to remember - we're talking about college kids here. College kids have a near perfect record of questionable - and sometime downright bad - decision making. I know I made more than a few really bad decisions when I was in college.

IF any of this is true the only blame goes on Young, These players are told right off the bat what to avoid.

Unfortunately the NCAA knows OSU is one of the few schools left that will go to Indy, bend over, and say "I was bad." They may not vacate wins (depending on what was known and when), but I fully expect if there's any kind of truth to this that the NCAA will gleefully hand out some kind of dumb punishment to make it look like they still have teeth because they know OSU will accept it.

Note that I'm not saying I'd rather the school be like those that tell the NCAA to fuck off, just that the NCAA knows they can levy a punishment on OSU and seem effectual.

We're talking half a game without any details about what happened, and then Saban shouting down reporters and acting like they're insulting him if they ask him a single question about it. Dabo would just go on some prosperity preacher rant and start speaking in tongues because "He just care about the kids, damnit!".

As far as I'm concerned, Day can suspend Chase 2 games, say it's resolved, and say no comment for the rest of his life.

Really? You think I'm just engaging in conjecture? Think about college players in the last few years. Young HAD to know he was committing a serious violation, putting the whole team's year at risk, yet he did it anyway (allegedly). By my definition, it's selfishness, and that will lead to sitting out. It's not hard.

If it's true that it was his family getting their flight paid to for the Rose Bowl then that would most likely be over $1k. Does it count if it didn't directly benefit Chase? I'm sure that the "hope for leniency" part.

Would like to point out - feels similar with what happened to Troy. 2 game suspension would have precedent here and feel fitting.

Removes Youngs Heisman chances and forces him to miss his last game, a top 5 matchup, at home no less.

Should that happen, God help the poor souls that line up across from him there after. You want motivation?... You'll see it.

Depending on the specifics of what we're talking about, I generally agree with you. However, if that happens, the narrative will be that OSU kept this under wraps until now to suspend him for two of the easiest games on the schedule. I don't think tOSU will accept that kind of bad PR. I'm guessing he will not be available for that PSU game.
