Ryan Day just dropped what should be taken as a breath of fresh air regarding Matt Patricia and the Ohio State Buckeyes​

Matt Patricia has been quite the addition for the Buckeyes.

Ryan Day’s admission regarding Matt Patricia is great news​

There’s no doubt that Ohio State head coach Ryan Day had to step in and make some adjustments with the defense down the stretch last year. It paid off for the Buckeyes, who couldn’t have played much better in the final five games of the season. This year, it’s been a hands-off approach — and that goes to show how good a hire Matt Patricia was.

“Not much,” Day said Thursday when asked how much he works with the defense. “Matt (Patricia) and I talk here and there just about philosophically what we’re trying to get done, but he’s doing a great job. He’s really the head coach of the defense, organizes it all, and he’s got a great staff with him.”

With all the head coach vacancies in NCAA football already, plus the firings that will happen at the end of the season, is there any question whether Patricia will get multiple HC offers plus NFL DC offers, all paying at least double/triple what he’s being paid now?

Yeah, an NFL team will offer him 5-6 million a year just to be a DC; and it’s not insane to think one of the major college openings will throw 9m at him or something just because he’s becoming such a commodity

Theoretical question:

Day wins another Natty and the NFL comes a knocking, how would everybody feel about Patricia being the HC?

Just a shits and giggles question. It is intriguing to me. I know his time at Detroit was a shit show, but so was Saban's tenure.
