Good lord all the names he threw out there who were doing well. Just how awful was the last group of turds at teaching these guys? Ugh
BTW, the way coach tells the story of who we are and what we do is outstanding. He gets it more than most coaches I've ever heard. You just don't put the best 40time or vertical jump on the field, there are guys who just play the game ala Chris Spielman. The "feel" of the game just fits some guys and they aren't always the fastest or the strongest just the best. Of course when you get all of that in a player you get a monster of a defense. WANT
It's clear out strategy for the last few years under Meyer and the first few under Day were we are going to be better than you and we don't care you know what we are running. We're going to have so much talent we beat you anyways. While Knowles loves the talent he wants to out scheme you as well. Not just dare you to beat his talentI think we had too many position coaches, and no one that could run an entire defense. And that was the issue. Too many times, it seemed like Coombs was so excited by all those high rated players from HS, and thought just putting them on the field with little strategy, they would just out talent everyone. Until they ran into teams with equal talent, then we became screwed, because there was little gameplan or changes in scheme. Knowles seems like a guy ready for plan A to Z with every team we face. And the amount of assistants he brought on shows that he is ready for this defensive overhaul
