Man, it hurts to type this, but yikes, rewatching this tape, he was completely responsible for 2 of the 3 big Purdue TDs in the 4th. In the first linked clip, he takes a completely atrocious angle/bites a fake that wasn't even a fake/was completely and inexplicably out of position, and in the third clip, I still don't understand how he didn't bring Moore down, considering he had Moore completely wrapped up. I have no faith in Wint either, based on what we've seen from him this year, but Riep cannot be this bad.

it almost seems (to me at least), that once a person wins the position, it takes moving the moon and earth to unseat them. Having said that, I'm sure this can be refuted, but it also appears that once someone is in the 'dog house', it's doggone hard to dig out. Wint was the answer, until he wasn't. Are our 5* S's not able to play? Riep missed a couple of tackles, and bam, on the pine. Could losing Coombs been that big a deal? From what we're seeing, it seems to be so. What historically has tOSU DBs being selected in pre-season Top 10 (it doesn't matter who they put back there, they'll be fine), to 'dog meat' so quickly. Dunno, the 'silk purse' seems to have become a 'sows ear'. The handpicked talent is there, the coaches have the experience, so who is underperforming, one or both? Go Bucks!

I would love for some of the other safeties to get a shot. I would not like to see Wint be one of them (in 2018). His body of work was more than enough to show me he was not the answer.

TACKLING PROBLEMS. You don't really need stats to tell you that Isaiah Pryor has had a rough year, but I'm giving you one anyway because it's just ridiculous.



I'm sorry, 36.4 percent?

Pryor literally misses a tackle more than every third time he has the opportunity to make one.

So basically, if a team designed its offense to run directly at him every single play for four downs, they would have an 84 percent chance of him whiffing on one of those tackles, by my math.

That's probably not great.

Pryor best close to the line of scrimmage that said ... a move to OLB is his best bet .... he has hips like concreate and plays flat footed ... two things you can’t do at DB he isn’t the best athlete ... and if you watch his H.S film you will notice 90% of his plays were made at LB depth ... he is very good at setting an edge and just attacking the ball but he isn’t good at tackling in space ... in both his senior and junior highlight tapes I believe he made 1 maybe 2 int with them being thrown right at him ... long story short he isn’t a safety ... at 6’2 210 he can play OLB now in the type of speed defenses we see now

He played in 2017 and 2018 and is now a junior.

He's played four games in 2019, so he still has time to redshirt for this season and have two years of eligibility remaining.

Houston's starting quarterback, D'Eriq King, is doing the same thing.
