Corey Brown was the subject of many message board threads when the initial Scout.com Top 100 was named. Brown was tabbed as a top 40 selection and on Sunday, he showed why the folks at Scout.com felt he was worthy of the lofty status as one of the nations elite prospects. Hopefully he quieted the critics.

Totally off topic, so I apologize, but BL is just a terrible writer. I count 4 glaring errors in that short little article. For someone who makes their living as a writer, that is pretty darn bad.

From the ND site...Brown and Bell did not visit South Bend this past weekend but will try to re-schedule. The pair have made visits to Ohio State, North Carolina, Penn State, Maryland and West Virginia.

Gateway has another junior who is being heavily recruited, but doesn't have a scholarship offer from Ohio State. Corey Brown, a cornerback-receiver, has more than 30 offers from Division I schools and Bell said he is hoping Ohio State decides to make an offer to his teammate. While Bell answered questions at a small news conference Monday afternoon at Gateway, Brown stood in the background, waving an Ohio State flag.
"He's looking at Pitt strongly, and West Virginia strongly -- and North Carolina and Penn State," Gateway coach Terry Smith said of Brown. "He's more wide open than Dorian. Corey wants to go through at least this spring and see who else comes through."

From the Pitt site...talks about the combine at State College...says he was going back and forth between wanting to play WR and CB but has started to settle on CB. No favorites, but has visited Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and Ohio State and is planning to visit Michigan and ND.

If you go to the link, question #10 asks him the status of Corey Brown and Ohio State. Smith states that Corey received his official offer Monday 5/12.

EDIT: Rivals is now reporting the offer as well.
