?The Chargers signed cornerback Antonio Smith, who has spent time on the practice squads of the Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts. The Chargers have been a little thin at corner.
Undrafted rookie cornerback Antonio Smith did not look good. He got beat around the edge for a big 49ers gain on the ground and lost the ball in pass coverage, allowing a 33-yard completion.
the Bengals signed cornerback Antonio Smith. The former Ohio State standout was signed by the Colts in 2007 and spent the season on injured reserve. He was waived by the Colts the next season and was briefly on Detroit?s practice squad. Smith was with the Lions and Chargers during the preseason this year before being waived by San Diego on Sept. 6.

MICKENS SIGNS: The Bengals signed Huber's University of Cincinnati teammate, rookie cornerback Mike Mickens, to the practice squad Monday. The 6-1, 190-pound Mickens is a local prodcuct out of Wayne High School in Dayton, Ohio. He was a seventh-round selection by Dallas back in April and was with the Cowboys in preseason before being waived Sept. 6. He was on the Dallas practice squad until Nov. 3, when he was signed to Tampa Bay?s 53-player roster. He was inactive for the Bucs for three games and was waived on Nov. 25.
In order to make room on the practice squad for Mickens, the Bengals released cornerback Antonio Smith a week after signing him.
Also Wednesday, the Bengals signed cornerback Antonio Smith, a second-year NFL player from Ohio State, to the practice squad.
Smith (5-9, 190) is in his second stint this year with Cincinnati, having previously been on the practice squad from Nov. 24 through Nov. 30. He entered the NFL in 2007 as a college free agent with Indianapolis, and spent the regular season on the Colts? Reserve/Injured list. He was waived by Indianapolis during the 2008 preseason and was briefly on the Detroit practice squad during the 2008 regular season. He was with Detroit and San Diego during the 2009 preseason.

With the Adam Jones deal expected to be made official on Monday, the Bengals have waived second-year CB Antonio Smith, who played at Ohio State. Smith finished last season on the Cincinnati practice squad and was signed to the club?s offseason roster on Jan. 11.
