Darrell Hazell (official thread)

While it is a shame to see a good assistant coach go, this is a great way for him to get head coaching experience for the day he takes over for Coach Tressel. I just hope this does not have the same effect that all the assistant coaches defections had on the Florida program in the past few years.

At first I was disappointed to hear this, because I didn't want to lose Hazell as a coach. But, I think this will help us out in the long run because he'll get four years of head coaching experience at a MAC team, whicl keeping his in-state recruiting connections intact, before coming back as Tressel's replacement after the 2014 season.

Just talked to one of my friends (Actually my former QB from HS) who currently plays WR for Kent State. Guess they haven't told the players yet cause he had no idea, but he's very excited about Hazell coming in. He's disappointed that he only gets one year of his tutelage though since he's a senior.
