Darnay Holmes (CB New York Giants)

Darnay says tOSU is in his top three & he might be making it to Columbus sooner than Friday Night Lights in July. No longer deciding in June as he plans to take all five official visits & make his choice during the season.

Darnay plans on using two of his official visits to tOSU, TTUN & wants to be in Columbus for The Game in November. Says tOSU was recruiting him hard before the NFL Draft, but even harder now after. Spent an entire day at school with one of the Ohio State coaches recently & knows he's highly coveted by the Buckeyes.

Visited by Coach Schiano again last week. Still planning on visiting tOSU for Friday Night Lights in July with his father, Brendan Radley-Hiles & his mother.

Has officials lined up to Nebraska (9/3), Ohio State (The Game) & TTUN (no date). Also discusses his interest in USC, UCLA & Stanford. Plans on making a decision after his season, but before signing day.

Sounds like just the sort of thing one says about a school one doesn't intend to matriculate to.

No chance here. Especially with another option of his being Nebraska and us having coach Smith hold us back on Twitter.

His Twitter is flooded with Husker fans. These guys still think they are relevant. One guy posted a stat that shows Nebraska has more conference championships, wins, bowl games and a better bowl win percentage. Of course, Ohio State beats Nebraska in everythng else, which includes win percentage, national championships, all americans, heisman winners, NFL draft picks, first round NFL draft picks, weeks in the AP poll and weeks at no. 1. Oh, there's also head to head, which Ohio State also wins.

Here are stats that Mr. Holmes should care about...

National Chamionships: Ohio State-8, Nebraska-5
NFL Draft Picks: Ohio State-418, Nebraska-353
First Round NFL Draft Picks: Ohio State-69, Nebraska-34

And then, maybe consider recent history and all. Nebraka's last moment of relevance was getting smoked in 2001 by a Miami team who Ohio State sent in to long term mediocrity the following year.

Nebraska has 46 conference championships: 31 in the Big Eight/Big 12 ... 12 in the Missouri Valley Conference ... and 3 in the Western Interstate University Football Association.

Ohio State has 38 conference championships: 36 in the Big Ten ... and 2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

So Ohio State leads in major conference championships 36 to 31.

But who cares? Which program currently has the better head coach, overall coaching staff, stadium, facilities, and campus?

And more importantly, which program has a better chance of winning a national title over the next five years?

And most importantly of all, which program provides a player with the best chance of reaching the NFL?

Ohio State wins on all the points that really matter.

All you really have to say is:
tOSU: Urban Meyer
NU: Mike Riley

All of these points make sense to Buckeye fans. But we're dealing with a 16yo, who probably wants to see the field ASAP. And OSU's coaches can't say that that would happen. It's an easier depth chart in Nebraska, of course nothing is promised or set, but there's a reason kids from CA have been flocking to the middle of nowhere, they can see the field very early. All of the past accomplishments by OSU may be moot with Darnay

[BIASED]Past accomplishments might not mean as much to prospects as we would like to think/hope, however, it should mean something that Ohio State just had 12 players drafted in the first four rounds of the last NFL draft, while Nebraska has had 12 players drafted in the past four DRAFTS overall.

If a player is good, he can make it pro anywhere. That being said, the odds definitely point towards Ohio State being a clear better path to the league. There might be more competition at Ohio State but any prospect should come in and plan on rising to the top against college competition if they have any plans to succeed against pro competition. Also, at Ohio State, a prospect gets to go up against the very best in practice on a daily basis which is a huge benefit toward anyone who wants to go pro.[/BIASED]

Nebraska might not be the school to worry about here as much as some California schools but if it comes down to Ohio State or Nebraska, my biased opinion says that the choice should be very simple. Of the CA kids flocking to Nebraska's version of "the middle of nowhere" for playing time, there isn't much success at the college level or beyond to point to. Ohio State doesn't pull in tons of CA talent either (this year excluded,) but with those things being equal, it comes down to playing for Mike Riley (lmao,) or a champion in Urban Meyer.
