Dad confesses to holding daughter captive 24 years

Someone help me out here, this makes no darn sense to me. The man is PENNILESS, or as near to it as is possible and still have property, how is this gonna help ANYONE?

If they win, how, exactly, are they supposed to squeeze blood from that particular turnip?

If someone turned the home into a night club and the celler into an s&m themed bar, I'd never pay a cover to check it out. :paranoid:

Hence the bank demanding the repayment of the loan.

Authorities of the hospital where the family of Josef Fritzl are being treated have been criticised for reuniting the two sets of siblings ? the one that led a normal life upstairs and the other forced to dwell in an underground dungeon.

Despite claims from doctors that the family are interacting well and recovering faster than expected, experts have voiced fears that the decision to place all family members together could negatively affect their therapy.
"I have the impression that the doctors and therapists are reviving a family system that has proven to be damaging for Elisabeth Fritzl in the past," said Helene Klaar, a Vienna lawyer specialising in family law.
"It is difficult to understand why must Elisabeth Fritzl now live with her mother, the same woman who never helped her as she was abused by her father,? she added.

This article has some very interesting bits on how they are dealing with paparazzi and making ways to get the kids out in the air and such.

Josef Fritzl is to see his "dungeon family" for the first time since his arrest, when his daughter presents evidence on her 24-year ordeal of sex abuse and imprisonment.

Elisabeth Fritzl, 42, will be questioned by a judge, prosecutors and her father's lawyer in a court session which will be beamed to her father via video link.
Doctors treating Elisabeth Fritzl and her children have confirmed that following a month of therapy her condition has improved drastically and that she would be able to give evidence, although it is possible that a psychiatrist would be present during the questioning, which is due to happen in early July.
Her children, aged five to 19, will also be questioned at a later stage.

The wife of Josef Fritzl has visited the dungeon where he kept their daughter imprisoned for 24 years to collect personal items for her daughter and grandchildren, the Austrian authorities said.

The daughter is talking.
Elisabeth Fritzl was forced to help build the dungeon where she was kept by her sadistic father Josef, it emerged yesterday.
For the first nine months of her 24 years in captivity, she was also tethered with a 5ft dog leash around her neck to prevent her escape.
Elisabeth, now 42, had been sexually abused by her father since the age of 11.
She ran away from home at the age of 16 but was dragged back by Fritzl and locked up when he suspected she was planning to leave again.

How can a person not be completely driven mad by such a circumstance? I don't know. How can he not be completely mad? :shake:

Assuming someone is insane, and therefore incapable of rational thought or responsibility, is an easy trap to fall into about sociopaths. "It's so crazy a thing to do the person MUST be crazy!" is a fallacy that lets these people get away with way too much.
