Crowd for National Championship

Because they don't want to compete with the NFL playoffs. All about that tv money
Yep, this is it. They could do Sunday night if they wanted to, but what's really the difference between Sunday night and Monday night? Other than for those attending the game will have an easier time getting there if they live in Texas and are working Monday.

They could conceivably do Saturday afternoon, but that would kill ratings. Or try to work out a deal with the NFL to give them Saturday night, but why would they do that?

Maybe I'm old or it's just because I'm employed but staying up until what will at least be 1:30 -2:00 in the morning and having to go to work the next day doesn't really appeal to me. If I didn't have a horse in the race I would be going to bed most likely around half time. The game should be on a weekend day.
It's not as bad for someone without a horse in the race. The game should be over by midnight. For OSU/Oregon fans (probably especially for the winning team), they'll be up until 2 or 3 watching the post game, going to the forums, etc.

Let's not put the cart before the horse here...

And I'm not saying this confrontationally to anyone, but let's cut the holiday crap. Monday and Tuesday aren't going to be holidays. You know why?

Because this is Ohio State.

This is the fourth time in 13 years we're going to be in the National Championship Game. We've been here before... and if history is an indicator, we're going to keep being here in the future. It's just gonna be Monday and Tuesday at the office, y'all.

I just don't want to go to work after staying up until 2am (or later, depending on result of the game). :drunks:

Really no alternatives...unless you ask the NFL to switch up their schedule. Later kick time is just so those on the west coast can view it at a reasonable hour.

Why do we care about those stiffs?

Just kidding. Whining about these late games is something old people do. Why don't you take a nap when you get home from Denny's early bird special and then you can stay up later. I'd tell you to record it, but I doubt you can work your DVR and I'm sure you're still too scared of the VCR to even get the clock to quit flashing "12:00". Now that I think of it, what are you doing on the interwebs? Didn't your grandkids tell you that there are age restrictions to be here?

Most of us have worked a long day or shift at some time. You find a way to hang in there because it's important.
How many chances in a lifetime do you get to be at an event like this?
If you can go.....You go!

One of the ESPN announcers said Oregon fans were vastly outnumbering Ohio State fans and the other guy said "well Oregon runs that fast-paced offense and Ohio State will eventually get into town". Monday can't get here soon enough so we can see how "physical" Oregon really is.

This Ohio State fan saw no reason to get down there this early. We'll head for Dallas in the morning and get there in time for dinner tomorrow night. No reason to be there any earlier.
