Are any of you guys fans of the country and/or western music?

Any of you ever been to this?

http://www.countryconcert.com/

It's like 6 miles down the road from here and it's a heckuva beer bash. I went once, the summer after I graduated from high school. I had a great time, got drunk off my ass 4 straight days and haven't been back. Anyone going this year? I hate country music, so I don't have a clue how big the bands are.

I'm going-it's a blast, even if you are not a major country music fan-which I am not. Tim McGraw on Friday night will be the highlight, IMO. I just wish Montgomery Gentry was on Saturday instead of Sunday.

here would be my run down:

Tim McGraw: good performer: decent mix of pop country and more traditional. not my favorite but by far the biggest name on the bill, arguably the biggest name in country music today

Teri Clark: kinda manish

Brooks and Dunn: Solid Group dominated the duet competion for almost a decade before montgomery gentry got there

Montgomery Gentry: Great live show, Cheesey music

Sarah Evens: genuine country music. i joy to listen to. don't know how she would translate to the stage

Brad Paisley: rediculously talented singer and musician, kinda a glen campbell type. has a penchant for humorous songs(many of which come off hokey)

Chely wright: i have no clue, would be willing to bet that she sounds much like the thousand other young hot vocalist to enter country music the last couple of years

Phil Vasser: decent song writer but a complete tool (just my opinion, i hate his one earing like its 1992)

Joe Diffe: has he had a hit since the early 90's? granted i really liked him then

Blue Country: never heard of them

Gary Allen: Latest example of the "Bakersfield" sound of California country, mostley electric and puts on a very good show.

The Oak Ridge Boys: One of the best groups to come out of country music in the 80's, maybe ever

The Kentucky headhunters: no clue

Josh Gracin: American Idol fag, Served in the marines though. thats solid in my book

billie currington: no clue

Josh Turner: Deep Bass voice, had one hit with long black train, a toss up

Cross Canadian Ragweed: Oklahoma boys, have a huge following in Texas and the surrounding areas. Great live show, really more of a southern rock band.

George Canyon: guy from Nashville Star

Jeff Bates: no clue

Povertyneck Hillbillies: no clue but thats a large band

Trent ???: i know several trents, not this one though

hope that helped, looks like a solid show

friday looks to be by far the best night, imho

If you ever have a chance to catch a Cross Canadian Ragweed show do it at all cost. They rock non stop. I saw them in Cleveland before I transferred to Puerto Rico and they just fucking rock. They have a t-shirt that says, "Smells like country, but tastes like rock-n-roll" I would travel miles to see them.

I went to Country Concert every year when I was in college. This year we have about 20 in our crew and a reserved camp spot right near the entrance.

Even if you don't like country music, I guarantee you'll have a blast at the concert. It's a Redneck Mardi Gras, so bring lots of beads and film for your camera.

I'm really excited to see Cross Canadian Ragweed. Like a few others have mentioned, they fucking rock.

Its cool/depressing to see cross making it. I cannot even count the amount of times that i have seen them for free. I am glad that they are doing well though, they still play Alabama and Boys from Oklahoma at every show. The only difference is that the last time i saw them there were many many more groupie type girls. Not that theres anything wrong with that.
