The OSU job was his dream job....how the hell can you top that! His mission in life is about helping others...he is done coaching. It would not surprise me to see him as a teacher or in some capacity where he can help young people. He has had very close ties with AIA and FCA and I hope they don't distance themselves from him because of this. That would be a terrible waste.

I agree wholeheartedly and can't imagine why anyone would ding you. What the heck, I mean State College is a hop, skip, and a jump away. The family dogs wouldn't be upset by the climate change and he'd be just about as close to his pals in Youngstown as he is now.

Just imagine the fun of watching Tress come back to Ohio Stadium to field that fantastic "hold the rail" team against the Buckeyes. Oh yeah! I get it.

So, I'm in full agreement with your sentiments in starting this thread txp135! Let him put that ministry stuff on hold. Those dreams of working with young people can wait. Let's get him into State College!

Woo-hoo! Let's get 'er done! But let's try to avoid repeating this...

Realistically Coach Tressel is done coaching for good, and will stay busy with speaking engagements and charities and writing books, but someone did mention Baldwin-Wallace... Their field is already named for him: maybe John Snell's seat is a little warmer this week...

1) He doesn't have the OSU job anymore so it's quite easy to top

2) He's one heck of a coach and coaching would reopen many doors and allow him to accomplish helping others better.

3) Unless he comes out and explicitly say that he won't coach again then there's still a possibility

That's like saying Jennifer Lopez dumped you for cheating on her, so it's easy to top that relationship.

There's nothing he could say that would remove the possibility of it happening (see every coach's comments before they take their next job)

He'll never coach at PSU. It's too country for him.

He coached YSU before and he can still get a much better post than YSU once this matter is over.

I know, but if Tressel says that he's done coaching, I would take a vbet on that.

Random Observation:

We have good posters who are fans of numerous schools. We even have good posters who are fans of SEC schools (at least 4 different SEC schools are represented well on this board). Hell, even TSUN is well represented on this board (ish).

So why not PSU?

Just wondering...

At Youngstown State he was the athletic director and head football coach. I don't look for him to coach again; however, I wouldn't be surprised if he lands an athletic director job at a smaller college (probably in Ohio).

It take more than field goals to be a good poster here.
