Elon Musk continues to cast doubt about ‘bogus’ COVID-19 test results

Elon Musk continued to cast doubts on the accuracy of coronavirus tests Friday morning — just hours after tweeting that he took four rapid tests with conflicting results.

The Tesla CEO and third-richest man in the world had initially tweeted Thursday night that “Something extremely bogus is going on” regarding Covid-19 testing. “Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse.”

Musk said he took the “rapid antigen test from BD,” likely referring to medical-supplies giant Becton Dickinson.

“If it’s happening to me, it’s happening to others,” he said in a follow-up tweet. “I’m getting PCR tests from separate labs. Results will take about 24 hours.”

Just sayin': Apparently the Becton Dickinson test has a 50% chance of being correct.

50 per cent accuracy is what a test needed to be approved. The same 50 per cent effectiveness is what a vaccine needs for approval.

So they had their first case of COVID at my wife’s office. It was in her department but she didn’t have any contact with the person.

Interestingly, the person hadn’t been in the office since Wednesday afternoon, but the office didn’t get cleaned until Saturday. They don’t say when they were notified of a positive test.

She contacted her doctor about getting tested and was told you have to have 1 major and 2 minor symptoms before they will test you.

That seems to go against everything being reported about wanting people to get tested.

We have drive through testing for anyone in Illinois everywhere. They did 500 tests on the weekend for our county that only has a population of 50000.

My nephew lives in Illinois and one of his staff tested positive. He was told by his company, if he went to get tested he would have to quarantine for 14 days because that means he is displaying symptoms.

We have drive through here as well, but you have to have an appointment...

So yeah.....
