I'm going to try to find a way for some of you to spend a day with a doctor or nurse in a hospital, listening to COVID patients gasping for breath, crying, and pleading to be vaccinated, thinking that might save their lives. I'd like to see some of the big talkers here have to watch people die from this crap and then explain to someone who need's urgent surgery that they cannot be saved because unvaccinated COVID patients who didn't want to pay taxes for public health have taken up all the beds. How many radio hosts and internet stars who stood against vaccination have now died from COVID? Listened to as they spouted complete nonsense, ignored as they died in their beds.
Why do people not open their eyes. This is not the flu. You don't ever recover from this crap. I lost a bit more than 35% of my lung capacity to H1N1, when inflexible scar tissue replaced oxygen capturing alveoli. COVID is much, much worse than H1N1. It is absolutely amazing to me that a country that once was the world's most educated, would rather listen to the science babble of talking heads not educated in epidemiology than public health experts who are.
What kind of silliness encourages the grown-up kids who barely passed biology in high school to "do your own research", then points them to such hocus-pocus and sources of manure that masquerade as alternative truth? When did sources who promote the cynical lies impacting on public health become free to peddle such stuff.
COVID has produced amazing levels of disunity in America that promise to tear the country apart. It has stripped bare the selfishness that screams for "vaccine choice" but ignores the boundaries between own rights and harm to others that infringes on their same rights. I am absolutely horrified by the COVID ignorance and bullshit that parades as wisdom in US media today. It is a symptom of a much greater decline that has left me with a great sadness.
