Or maybe she knows that she's:

1) Still unlikely to contact it, and
2) Will be virtually assured of surviving it if she does

Given transmission rates and proximity, you're beyond wrong about the 1st one.

What is "virtually "assured"? I mean, if somebody told me I'm going to do something and that I would be "virtually assured" of living, that means there is a chance of death that didn't previously exist. That chance should give any right and rational mind at least a moments pause. Especially when it's a risk that can be nullified by simply avoiding that thing for a short amount of time. If not, another thing to consider -whom else she might infect as a potential asymptomatic carrier of the disease?

Attempting to limit the spread of this affliction isn't fear. Fear is when you do not think of a course of action and thus leads you to inaction. And bulk of the time, whether you believe it or not, inaction is what gets you killed.

edit: And being that I ran one of the larger gyms in the DC Metro area at one point, I'll be the first to tell you they're a bunch of god damn petri dishes. Even my gym, which I took pride on being pretty freaking clean.

Dude, you called it a “death wish.” Don’t try to backtrack with a holier than thou soliloquy now.

First of all, get off my dick. And until this bug is squashed, don't bother responding to my posts because trust me, I'm not going to bother with yours. (Sans this)

If I told ANYONE:

"Hey, a new pathogen that has killed some people and fucked some others up has rolled through here, might want to take a few days off until we get the all clear" And they just hit me with a "nah, I'm good". Then yes, you have to harbor some deep seeded issues.

We'll talk in a few months, boo.

If the transmission rate is as bad as many claim, there should easily be tens of thousands of confirmed cases in the country by now. Guess what, there isn't. Per the CDC:

  • Total cases: 3,487
  • Total deaths: 68
  • Jurisdictions reporting cases: 53 (49 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and US Virgin Islands)
That's less than 3,500 cases in over a month of observation in a country of 330 million people, or around one case for every 96,000 people...and the majority of those cases are in just a few locations.

Fear is when people are scared shitless over a virus that will affect very few under the age of 70, and has not spread near as fast as predicted outside of a few isolated areas in the world. Fear is saying someone who isn't cowering in the boots over this has a "death wish".

Well done, gentlemen.

Business booming for cam girls amid coronavirus outbreak

Business is booming for sexy solo performers as millions of holed-up horndogs look to relieve their outbreak anxiety, XXX workers say.

That's America at it's finest folks.

Neighbors helping neighbors.

Government will find a way to fuck it up soon enough I'm sure. The need to protect us from ourselves and all.

Kind of hard to have tens of thousands of confirmed cases when we’ve had the testing capacity of 10x less until recently, and testing is still far under where it needs to be.
