Thank GOD!! I wear hearing aids but can’t with masks because the ear straps cause interference and distortion for me. while i cannot read lips I can get enough from them to figure out what someone is saying. since March it has been a major struggle.
Would the straps that go over the top of head be of any benefit? I know there are a lot of variations for people who struggle with the irritation of the straps. Not sure how the distortion works.

Friend of mine has some hearing aids that you can't even tell he's wearing. I guess they're also blue tooth. So, a lot of the time he's listening to music through them.... or.. leaving his phone in one place and eavesdropping from another... It is a little unnerving watching him have a phone conversation without picking up his phone at all. But, seriously, if or when I need hearing aids, that's the route I'm going.

Why 2 masks are better than one:

i've tried those but can't get them to stay up over my nose. I know I have been, at times, combative in this thread but I have taken the science recommendations seriously. including moving to two masks. I made the big mistake of getting behind the ear aids. I wear glasses and i like to wear hats...both interfere with the receiver that rests behind the ear. I plan on getting in the ear aids soon. those cost a little more but now i see they are worth it for my lifestyle.

An opening for vaccine was available at Mt Carmel East (closer to home); so I cancelled the Schottenstein Center and scheduled there. One shot down and one to go:

Apparently the second Pfizer shot is actually 3 weeks ± 4 days. I have the send shot scheduled for the 18th. Let's get it over with as soon as possible.

P.S. My nurse was really nice and the shot was painless; however, I didn't see any nurse resembling the above picture working at Mt Carmel East.

Vaccine shot #2 DONE!!!

I have a big head 7 1/2 hat size, and since I've had access to the N95 masks, some have been really tight to the point that I think I'm getting Daniel Craig ears. The around the back of the head ones have been outstandingly comfortable.

Just made an appointment at Truefitt & Hill for my first real haircut in 12 months. Haven't even been to their relocated location in Old Town yet. I can walk there now. Used to get a shoe shine during my cut, but now that lockdown has made me a 'shine ninja, I won't be paying for the shoeshine.

"As it stands, Pfizer and Moderna are distributing 4-5 million vaccine doses each week. Pfizer plans to up that to 13 million doses weekly by mid-March, and Moderna is working to distribute 40 million doses per month, the companies told the House Energy and Commerce Committee during a Tuesday hearing. Moderna plans to ship at least 100 million doses by the end of May."
