Mine got her first shot last week. She has Lupus.

Illinois is a cluster fuck. Nobody knows how to get the vaccine, and there's virtually no communication from the city. In Chicago, the neighborhoods getting vaccinated the quickest are the most affluent. It's really sick that some banker neighbor of mine who's been working remotely through the whole thing is likely to get it before some grocery store worker in Albany Park, and Lightfoot should definitely be ousted after this term.

In Ohio, with the exception of health care workers, first responders, and teachers your occupation doesn't effect your eligibility/priority for the vaccine.

Phase 1A:
  • Healthcare workers and personnel who are routinely involved in the care of COVID-19 patients.
  • Residents and staff in nursing homes.
  • Residents and staff in assisted living facilities.
  • Patients and staff at state psychiatric hospitals.
  • People with developmental disabilities and those with mental health disorders, including substance use disorders, who live in group homes, residential facilities, or centers, and staff at those locations.
  • Residents and staff at our two state-run homes for Ohio veterans.
  • EMS responders.
Phase 1B Timing
  • Jan. 19, 2021 – Ohioans 80 years of age and older.
  • Jan. 25, 2021 – Ohioans 75 years of age and older plus those with a developmental or intellectual disability AND one of the conditions: cerebral palsy; spina bifida; severe congenital heart disease requiring hospitalization within the past year; severe type 1 diabetes requiring hospitalization within the past year; inherited metabolic disorders including phenylketonuria; severe neurological disorders including epilepsy, hydrocephaly, and microcephaly; severe genetic disorders including Down syndrome, fragile X syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, Turner syndrome, and muscular dystrophy; severe lung disease, including asthma requiring hospitalization within the past year, and cystic fibrosis; sickle cell anemia; and alpha and beta thalassemia; and solid organ transplant patients.
  • Feb. 1, 2021 – Ohioans 70 years of age and older; employees of K-12 schools that wish to remain or return to in-person or hybrid models.
  • Feb. 8, 2021 – Ohioans 65 years of age and older.
Just sayin': The hospitals, doctor's offices, and pharmacies (that I know of) in Franklin County that are giving the vaccines require you to make your appointment online. When their online booking window opens the vaccine appointments fill up real fast, i.e. like within 3 hours or less. When you think or know they are about to take new bookings you kind of have to monitor their site, etc.

My wife who is 69 signed up today for her 1st shot next Tuesday (9 Feb 2021) at Mt Carmel East Hospital. She carried our travel laptop around with her this AM and checked every 15 minutes or so. Their window opened up sometime between 9 AM and 9:15 AM and they had 2 full days of Pfizer and 2 full days of Moderna vaccine appointments, they were totally booked full before noon. Also, the booking windows can open at different times, last week when I booked Mt Carmel East their booking window didn't open until about 12:30 PM.

Anyone linking China's hacking of 80% of American's health records to Covid? Reading Rosone's 'Monroe Doctrine' indicating that China engineered this Covid 19 thing, and unleashed it, sacrificing hundreds of thousands of their people to disguise this biological weapon. Scary read.
