Trying to understand whether he means only 275M (over 18) or 118M (65+) are at vulnerable in america.

Need to understand what is being claimed first.
Are you saying that there are 118 Million people is the US out of its 330 Million population that are 65 and over (just under 36%)? Sorry, but I find that really heard to believe.

That's what I get for doing this on a phone. :facepalm:Misread the chart. Many of these covid charts have one more column after 65 (75/80 and up).

The actual number is 50 million for those over 65.

I listed 45+ in my erroneous number.

That's still more than I initially thought...
2017: https://acl.gov/sites/default/files/Aging and Disability in America/2017OlderAmericansProfile.pdf

The population age 65 and over has increased from 37.2 million in 2006 to 49.2 million in 2016 (a 33% increase) and is projected to almost double to 98 million in 2060. By 2040, there will be about 82.3 million older persons, over twice their number in 2000.

Obviously some of this is overall population growth, but we're getting old fast. On the plus side, a lower percentage is suffering through mid-life crises of their own doing (certainly no external factors to change that recently)
