It is no worse than a cold (at least for folks under 50), unless you have extra hardcore medical issues. Then it gets tough real quick...

Pastors wife, mid 40's with no known underlying issues - dead.

Friends father, 63, non-smoker and in rather decent health for a man his age (golfed, hunted, still worked part time) not heavy by any means- dead 3 days before Christmas.

Yeah... "a cold".

Ohio case rate:

Up 4x since Nov 1
Up 10x since Oct 1
which is a huge problem, and one that is postponing and threatening the treatment of the diseases acknowledged by both sides of the corona rivalry.

This doesn't only stricken the weak, old or unhealthy, and even it did, 1/3 of US adults are obese.

not to play counter point...but my 45 year old friend who is 300lbs, borderline diabetic and a habitual chain smoker recovered in 4 days with no lingering affects. The true danger, to me, of this virus is that there really appears to be no rhyme or reason to who dies and who doesn't. yes, they say at risk 50+ year olds are the most at risk...but that does not mean everyone else is safe.

Why does it damage the brain?
Is some of that permanent?
Can I get it again after being positive?
Does the vaccine prevent it?
How long do either protections last?
Even if everyone takes the vaccine, will it be enough?

So many "we don't know" answers for awhile longer.

we are gambling on the vaccine. I plan on getting it when its my turn. But if the vaccine does not work? total gobal isolation for 21 days until the virus dies out? is that even possible?
if not are we looking at another 4 years of touch and go like with other pandemics throught history?
