The text thing is bullshit but the National Guard is on the street, and has been for a few days now, in New Rochelle NY as we type.

As others have said, people aren't going to respond to being asked.

Government is going to have to calculate the price of flattening the curve or letting this thing run it's course and make a fucking decision.
Yeah, but that's to assist with the medical side of things.

Fair enough, but exactly which part is "a bit harsh"?

The part about the fact that the primary concern expressed by two leaders from two of our biggest population areas is how to get food to the kids who can't make it to school?

I think that it’s a bit harsh to judge those who, in a time like this, would focus on the bottom of Maslow’s Needs Hierarchy. There will always be time to learn...

One of the great things about America is that, within pretty broad limits, one has the right to be an asshole. One of the not so great things about America is that many people think that exercising that right to its fullest somehow makes one more American than showing some personal restraint and is to be admired. As the latter gets more and more out of hand, the former becomes more and more imperiled.
