Chicago sees deadliest Memorial Day weekend in 4 years. Somehow the media includes the pre-programmed stay at home/social distancing public service announcement in the article. As if to say, wait until you are allowed to go outside again, before you start killing one another!

I assume you're just being sarcastic. Cute.
Although school district vary in their first-day-of-school, I think schools will start opening in September provided the case and death rates continue to fall. As we slowly start opening back up socially, we still have all of June, July, and August to "herd immunize".We were taking bets at work today when we thought schools would reopen and my bet was January while others thought a "hybrid" start when academic year begins.
I totally disagree.
What about immuno-compromised staff or their spouses, pregnant staff etc....?Although school district vary in their first-day-of-school, I think schools will start opening in September provided the case and death rates continue to fall. UT has already said they will be back on campus this fall but not return after thanksgiving....What about immuno-compromised staff or their spouses, pregnant staff etc....?

Maybe they can continue to wear masks or other PPE as necessary. COVID is here to stay, so eventually we're going to have to deal with it while returning back to pre-COVID activities. What about immuno-compromised staff or their spouses, pregnant staff etc....?

I was thinking the other day that I haven’t seen/heard about any COVID lawsuits and wondering when those are actually going to start hitting. Will parents have to sign off not suing schools should a kid get sick or even die? I guess the schools would want that.
