Went to Home Depot this afternoon. My daughter and I were wearing masks. I’d say roughy 75% of people/workers not. No one was practicing social distancing. I moved over to let some folks come through the other way with some room and another couple blew right by us from behind. I was like dafuq people
.
I mentioned this earlier, but it seems odd that the public is wearing masks, but the workers aren’t, as it’s required in Illinois.

Tl;Dr.

Fauci himself has stated that continuing the lockdowns will cause more harm to public health than the virus itself.

Edit: also, it is LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to stop the spread. The goal was to SLOW DOWN the spread so hospitals, etc did not get overrun. The spread has been slowed for quite some time now, and the goal posts have been shifted to "stay locked down until there's a vaccine," which will DESTROY the entire world economy. Plus, a whole bunch of states are now pushing mail-in only ballots, as if going to Walmart is safe, but going to vote is not.

This has ceased to be a medical issue, if it ever was in the first place. It's all politics now.

Word!

Mili is correct in that the moving average(deaths) is down.......for this moment in time.
There will be a second wave. The 1918 pandemic had a second wave that was worse than the first. I'm starting to believe that it won't be the case this time because we're better prepared in most ways than when Covid first came to America. Different hot spots will occur in the second wave. Places like Alabama and Missouri could get hit badly. Possibly Georgia and Florida. Texas also. Texas is headed in the wrong direction right now.

The death rate will continue to fall until it levels out--at what number it will level is unknown--but will never hit zero...this shit is here to stay, just like the the other coronaviruses, the flu, the common cold, etc. The will likely be a surge during the flu season, but it has nothing to do with what happened 102 years ago. As you mentioned, we will be far better prepared to deal with it.
