Lifestyle change brother, not a panacea. It also explains why black people are at greater risk as the statistics would validate.
I'm not saying living healthier isn't a good idea for down the road. But the logic jump of UV rays are being used to kill the germs by shining it directly on them to we should all instantly go outside...that'll fix things! is absurd.

OK.. I'm cheating... took placquenil for a decade... not much about this drug I don't know... including when the doc told me years back "you don't need this drug anymore but it is so advantageous I'd have zero problem with you taking it the rest of your life" .. I stopped but only cuz the stigma of taking meds... but the only issue of note is that it can effect your retina if used for decades..

And we can probably agree you didn’t have COVID-19, right?

Look drug repurposing is a giant cottage industry, and it makes a lot of sense in general. But a hell of a lot of work has to go into determining whether it is a) as safe, and b) as helpful as what it is now used for.

And doctors were also the people who prescribed antibiotics like candy for 20 years until we got MRSA...

Here's a hoot.. in the rankings of most unsafe to safe drugs.. most unsafe first
1) tylenol
10) cocaine
14) heroin

Heard about this on news this morning... and stated hydroxy is in top group of safest
but my internet sleuth work only found 1-15 unsafest

Correct... but I've also had a front row seat about Covid for the last 2 months.. hydroxy may not be the cure... but cannot see it being the cause... too inconsistent with history
If USA average use of 5 million scripts / year * 50 years = 250,000,000; then add the rest of the world... especially immense use in Africa... tough for me to grasp we'd see a surprise...
Covid is a different animal but not massively different than all other SARS and actually similar in many aspects to the common cold (straight from the best cardiologist in Princeton)... that's precisely why they're experimenting with all the previous drugs they were using for last few SARS and ebola epidemics... If hydroxy was not a political pawn, we wouldn't see this stuff...

The next political pawn will be Remdesivir.. already starting... cost estimates are $1000-$4640 per pill.. price hasn't been set yet
but there's conspiracy journalists saying that this is a result of Gilead lobbyists pushing elected officials to promote it for purely financial purposes...
Journalists with alt agendas.. none seem to care about us... just create clicks and buzz

and MSM wonders why we hate all of 'em... and distrust all of 'em

It looks like the study only looked at people that already had COVID-19 before they got the hydroxychloroquine. So I don't think it makes a statement about whether it could be effective as a preventive measure. And I don't think it indicates that the drug isn't effective for other things; it just seems to be an indicator that it doesn't work as a treatment once somebody has COVID-19.

There's a test on the use of black light on Covid.. so hopefully we still have those black lights from the 70s.. and cool posters

So the people who have gotten this and the people who have died from this didn't see the sun? Were you confined to underground tunnels when you "got" this earlier?
JFC. I don't know if you're really this dense or simple fucking argumentative. The vast majority of those of have died in Hawaii were elderly in care homes, and so yeah, they didn't get out much...which leaves a small group who did get the virus, and who knows if they themselves got out much or if their comorbidities were significant enough that the daily walk outside didn't help. And the fact that only 647 people out of 1.4M statewide (about 1 in 2,154, or 0.046%, compared to the national average of 1 in 200 people, or 0.5%) have even tested positive should tell you that the constant warm, sunny climate is a significant factor. Fucking New York state has 566 times the amount of cases despite having only 14 times the population.
