these posts back to back make even less sense than individually...which is a pretty impressive feat. Nice job.
So, his understanding that he needs to be exposed to a virus in order to develop antibodies to it, and yet refusing to purposely put said virus in his body to protect himself from it, makes no sense to you? I got flu shots every year for 26 years while on active duty, because I had no fucking choice, and guess what happened after every single one? And yet, since retiring from active duty and not having a single flu shot in almost 20 years, I've had the flu maybe 3-4 times.

Nope, not really.
So we've reached the point of dismissing the media where we draw wide sweeping conclusions about the female reporters and how (never) fun they are in their off work hours?

Nope, that's still awful.

Say she's beating a dead horse. Chasing empty ambulances. Not reporting on the actual struggles elsewhere in town. Make all sorts of criticisms that are related to her writing. Or do that. :\

As of the end of today, the states of New York and New Jersey account for 42.5% of all COVID deaths in the country despite having only 8.6% of the country's population.
The flipside of that is that NYC's decline ismis how much the rest of the country is improving:

Edit: apparently the graphic doesn't include the text, but to translate

The top graph is reported cases in NYC. The bottom one is everywhere else. I'm trying and failing to find a similar graph for deaths

The same is true for the other hotspots like Michigan. Hopefully it keeps stair stepping down, the heat helps beat it down, and people find ways to get out without spreading it. That would be a wonderful relief, but not a probable bet.

No I pretty much pegged both of you as anti vaxxers before this. Not shocking in the least.

Wow. So many things wrong with this snipe.
The best part is where the guy who lives in the middle of the pacific ocean believes himself an authority on a reporter in Columbus, Ohio, and, with that expertise on his CV, that he need only respond to this with "nope, not really"

The flu "shot" is not a vaccine, per se. I've never had one, for example, yet I've never had the flu (knock on wood). My wife and kids get one every year and have contracted the flu multiple times. I've mentioned it many times in this thread. I'm as pro-vaccine as anyone else, but again, the flu shot is not a vaccine, or at least not a very effective one. Just saying. Don't come at me with any of your contrarian nonsense on this one!

everyone saying they never had a flu shot and never had the flu like everyone else is wrong is laughable.
had the flu 4 times from 16-27. the last time sucked hard. been getting a flu shot for the last 23 years. zero times getting the flu.

No one is wrong and no one is right H&G. Life is very nuanced, and like most subjects, full of gray area. We are relaying our experiences with these things. The flu shot will protect you from getting the flu if the scientists guess correctly, on which strains will be prevalent. There was no flu shot against H1N1, for example, the year it reared its ugly head. Nothing but non-exposure or your immune system would have protected you from it.
