So far today I've seen reports of hotels in Nigeria being bulldozed for not following lock down rules and a woman being arrested for walking her dog on a California beach.

The problem in Nigeria was the hotel owner refused to pay the bribe, it might just have been an extortion attempt gone bad.....

Coronavirus lockdown: Two hotels demolished in Nigeria 'for breach of rules'

State Governor Nyesom Wike, who supervised the tearing down of Edemete Hotel and Prodest Home on Sunday, said the operators had flouted an order that hotels should be closed.

He said that people who had tested positive for the virus had been found in hotels across the state. But he did not say if anyone who had Covid-19 had been staying in either of the demolished hotels.

The managers of both businesses have been arrested, but the owner of Prodest Home has denied that his hotel was open.

"The hotel was not operating and 70% of the staff had been sent away," Gogorobari Promise Needam told the BBC.

"There were only three people on ground.

"[Officials] came in and were asking for bribe, they said they would let us operate if we gave them money but we said we were not operational so had no money to give," he said.

'Abuse of office'
Lawyer Ahmed Abass told the BBC that an executive order cannot give the governor powers to demolish a building.

"An executive order is made by the president or governor in furtherance of existing laws," he said adding that it cannot go beyond the constitution, which guarantees a fair trial.

"What [Mr Wike] should have done was to have arrested the [hotel owners], taken them to court and the court would have prosecuted them," he told the BBC.

He described the governor's actions as "executive recklessness and an abuse of office".

I don't know what you want me to do. You called somebody's comment out when they questioned probably the most questionable source you can find......while you question other people's sources. That's the definition of being a hypocrite. You don't get to shift the shit on to me for calling you out on it, you looney tune.

I'll admit that criticizing someone for criticizing the cite itself and not its content, and then turning around and doing the same, does indeed contradict my point, but when it's sites like Vox, then I get a mulligan. If I were to cite InfoWars, then yeah, fire away without even reading the article.

You called somebody out for doubting ProjectVeritas.

Heading back to Ohio Wednesday. Mom has surgery to fix a broken shoulder from a fall on top of the broken elbow. They’re doing a COVID test tomorrow. I guess I will have a good idea if I have potentially been exposed. Still need some information but my guess is they will send her home right away.

Good luck to her. My mom has been considering rotator cuff surgery since the beginning of the year. I got her a tens device while elective surgery was no go. She ended up feeling pretty good with a little shock therapy... err... electro-stim. I guess that’s a far cry from a broken shoulder and elbow. Hope that it’s not too painful for her.

So, Hawaii is now 34% unemployed. Not sure how much the folks here are going to put up with this.
And tourism won't bounce back for a long time when people that fly in have to stay in their hotel rooms and not go on the beach for 14 days after arrival, which is what I believe the current guidelines are there.

Those are the requirements, for everyone not just tourists. I've had three friends (one single, and a married couple) come back from a couple months in the mainland (they were living here before going to the mainland) and they all three just fulfilled their 14-day quarantine a few days ago. They even had to have tracking devices activated (I think all three were tracked by their smart phones, but if they didn't have own a trackable device then an ankle bracelet would've been used). They didn't have to stay at a hotel, but rather the residence they listed when they arrived. They were allowed to be transported directly to that residence where they had to serve their 14 days without leaving. No leaving for "essential" stuff like food or anything...a true, no-shit house-arrest.

File Under Stupid People;
People letting there dogs shit on beaches and not cleaning up after them should be buried to the neck in said beach and wait the tide coming in. The same for bicycle and hiking paths. There are no bad dogs only bad owners.

I hate dogs, but I guess you're right, I should hate their owners. Been bitten by numerous dogs, and their owners always have the same reaction, "Duuuuuhhhhh, he's never done that before!"
