Not sure where you get "it's almost universally understood that the key time frame parameter is three weeks after the lifting of restrictions." I got my test results back in under 48 hours, and you can rest assured that those results where reported to the state within hours of the results coming back, quite possibly before my PCP was notified so he could notify me. I also acknowledge that the 7-day-moving-averages has already started going down a few days before the re-opening, so the downturn likely isn't because of the reopening.

Here’s why it will take so long for Americans’ sacrifices to have visible effects: The thing we’re trying to reduce — new coronavirus infections — is invisible at first. It takes between two and 14 days for a newly infected person to start showing symptoms. After symptoms begin to show, it can take more than a week for them to be eligible for testing (many people are not eligible at all). And then, because of backlogs in testing availability, it can take days for them to learn they tested positive.
Naturally that's the opposite of what we're tracking here, but the delay is similar.

So did you just not even read it then? The 2-14 day incubation period is a pretty common timeframe, and was that way a month ago.

I'm sure you are right Josh. But, you really did set yourself up for that one. Hahahaha!! It's literally a publication dedicated to a bunch of whiny op-eds ranking an individuals victim status.

I don't know what you want me to do. You called somebody's comment out when they questioned probably the most questionable source you can find......while you question other people's sources. That's the definition of being a hypocrite. You don't get to shift the shit on to me for calling you out on it, you looney tune.

The two day to two week timeline for symptoms to present and make folks eligible for/interested in getting tested has been a thing since day 1, the source doesn't matter at this point. That's the whole reason that we still have at least another week before we start seeing if things are still going in the right direction after beginning to open back up. Free for all testing is more common now than it was, but still not high enough, same for testing in general. There needs to be a robust test and trace system to have a chance at overcoming this in a timeline resembling anything close to quickly. Plus, there's the natural lag in numbers being presented. The weekend numbers always seem to be a step behind, and the weekday numbers more like a half step behind. We could very well see a continuing downward trend at days 13 and 14 after reopening, but then start seeing it climb on days 15 and beyond. The safe bet is 3 weeks before you start drawing conclusions, because that accounts for time for symptoms to present, test, and aggregate the data from the first several days of reopening.

Such name-calling is problematic.

Are you calling him Bugs Bunny, the Tasmanian Devil, Marvin the Martian, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, or Pepe le Pew? The lack of specificity confuses me.
