Gov. Holcomb talking about how things will be different for different people- i.e. the new normal for someone 65 and over with underlying conditions will be very different for some time.

Indiana is definitely inching towards “opening” up, but it’s going to be methodical and done the right way. I trust he sees where the data for some zip codes/ages/etc. are worse than others. Unfortunately those worse will need extra precautions. He’s definitely seeing things go the right direction and credits the efforts we’ve taken. Also says we have to get this right and keep doing what we’ve been doing so we can get back to the big events that our state loves like the Indy 500/sports. His big announcement/plan is being announced Friday.

also, some dumbass called in and asked if someone had COVID and recovered, then died in a car crash if it would be counted as a COVID death...gimme a break. Dr. Box handled the question with more class than I would have.

This is amazing - a few hours before you posted this, I bought my daughter a pflueger reel and eagle claw lightweight rod for her 12th birthday present. Can't wait til Sunday!

Mine just turned 14, she's hot and cold on the fishing... her mom tries harder, but they both rock spin casters for the most part... so, I have 11 zillion of them trying to find ones they like and work.. at some point I had bought at an auction an old 80's berkeley light action spin rod (because it came with this 20 size out of production shimano reel I decided I needed to have) and then I was at a Dick's changing location sale and I got this underspin shakespeare 4lb test kind of reel for like $6 off a table, no box. And I'm like well, this will make quite a nice light panfish rig since the tip on the berkeley was like 80's graphite bouncy... I got to fish for perch with it like once, then the kid found it and confiscated it from me. Apparently she was over her pink zebco 33, after her pink shakespeare, after her barbie rod (it was a bad idea really because its all fun and games till a sheepshead decides it wants all your line)

And some herds carry st croix rods with pflueger reels.

Well, yeah... but I wanted to leave @Nutriaitch out of it. :banger:

I prefer H20 Express rods with Abu Garcia reels.

in fact currently looking at satellite photos trying to find some freshwater spots.
son (was) on a Bass fishing team for his school. I know basically nothing about freshwater, but there ain't a saltwater team to join.
so me and him learning to freshwater it together.

true. But I don't know where to look, what to throw at them, or how to work what i'm throwing.

Saltwater, I know what to look for. so even in an area I've never fished, I can usually spot something that "looks" right.
I also know what they like and how to fish them according to weather, time of year, etc.

(my apologies if this needs to be moved to the fishing thread now).

Well.. i mean if I were me observing you, id tell me to hook up some craws on a hook and put them where craws might be near some cover.

Other than that, jigs always play... Figure out what the forage is for them right now.. find cover and work the whole column.

For me if I were fishing largemouth Tomorrow it would be shallow water with jigs and twistys that look like baby crappie.
