On the surface the 1 in 5 numbers in NYC are interesting. If that was a representative sample of the boroughs, it’s encouraging to say the least. NYC is getting hit hard in a couple of specific demographic groups per my understanding. If the number is truly 20%+ across the board and if antibodies equate to not catching it again (I think that is still being investigated), the mortality rate with that denominator is way better than it could have been.

I hope that they track that population through recovery / mortality and break out the stats by demography. This has the potential of being decent data provided their initial sampling methods were sound.

It's not going to be fixed anytime soon, either. People won't come back for electives for a long time. They've been keeping themselves out of the er for emergencies for crying out loud.

It's a beautiful new day. I didn't have to get up and see the sunrise.I got to sleep in. Lord knows us old people need our rest. And since I get to stay inside for most of the day I'm even happy that i get to be bored shitless for most of the day. Well that's not entirely true since i will go throw 100 or so horseshoes all by my lonesome. Maybe I'll go dig a hole in the ground and fill it back in then. sunny and warm days are my favorite.
