weren't the estimates of infection much higher than that?

Again, without context the numbers are very hard to interpret. Were the counties all in the NYC area? Upstate? Urban / Suburban / Rural?

I’d like to see some details on that.

Given that NY was a late bloom, all things considered, it would be interesting to see what similar methodology (same stratification among population density groupings for instance) would yield in some of the earlier hotspots. This would give us some idea how things look over time. If significantly higher in earlier hotspots it would suggest, if covarying for testing rates / other, how we might do as they start to open things back up.

I’d also like to know, of those sampled and were positive, what the profile of severity was... and further see that broken out by basic demography (gender, age, other).

They did the testing in 19 counties in New York. They tested people that were out in the public, not staying within their home.

Not sure if you’re being tongue in cheek or serious. That still doesn’t say much of anything. It could be very projectable or it could be pure shit due to sampling bias.

Before I form an opinion in either direction, I’ll need to read more.
