I did. I did two months of loading trucks on holiday graveyard shifts down in Obetz. I still have nightmares of looking down the belt and seeing this monstrous unending mound of Hickory Farms boxes heading my way. That being said, I also remember scheduled breaks and fairly stringent safety regs....even for us temporary non-union guys. And the union drivers had and have really good middle class lives. It's no way comparable to what goes on in Amazon warehouses, where a man was literally left on the ground for an hour with a heart attack and died before they finally got around to stopping work and helping him. And within five minutes of them taking the body away, the announcement came over the speakers to "get back to work." I can link you all the Guardian articles about what's going on in the warehouses.
I still have nightmares about my UPS summers!! Black snot didn’t clear until fall!

Interesting quote today on the news. "If you insist on going out without a mask, you're not being suicidal. You're being homicidal." And after seeing these assholes in the grocery store yesterday, that's exactly how I feel about them.

What if they already had it and are out of quarantine? Going to be an increasing amount of that demographic moving forward.

Given the low levels of testing, the extremely low level of "recovered" in America (see the JHU coronavirus map: 16,820 recovered out of 325,185 infected as of 1:30 this afternoon) and,...well let's just be honest about it...'Murica!, I'd put the odds of that at somewhere south of a hundredth of one percent. 16,820 officially recovered in the entire country, and 15-20 of them are walking around my Mariano's at one moment? Nah, I don't think so.

Well, about the time the Kroger employees wear them, I will too. They are generally also the worst offender on distance keeping. Got to be a stressful time for them though and I try to be patient with them.

The people with the masks for whatever reason today were the ones all up in my business. I dunno the percent of mask wearers today but it was probably in the 20% range.

Also, people there is no point in wearing gloves if you do not use them correctly.

The recovery reporting is trash...

Ohio has "officially" zero recoveries. Obviously thats not the case.

Well, most certainly every celebrity would qualify.

What's the determinant for an official recovery? I assume it's a positive test + a certain number of days (14?). So, the only people eligible now would be those who tested positive before March 22nd. How many were tested and tested positive on that date or before? Nationwide, we had 43.8K positive tests as of March 22nd. What are the odds that even one of those 15+ guys in Marianos were among that select group. The roulette wheel on that would have a thousand red numbers and one black number, and I think that's being exponentially generous.

Total trash, just like someone is committing homicide if they don’t wear a mask. This is why, among many other reasons, people hate the media. Last month, they said don’t waste your time wearing one, now they are trying to “mask shame” people.

If you were admitted to a hospital, and walked out on two feet, you are a statistical recovery. It’s total garbage.

Or maybe they're just reporting the medical consensus as it develops. We're learning this as we go along, so there's going to be a knowledge base that develops over time.
