Not bad.. but that is less than .08% of his net worth; thanks @Fungo Squiggly
Is @Fungo Squiggly supposed to get his dirty paws on Jeff's money and start siphoning it off to help the world, and then have a press release ready to make Bezos look awesome in the event that Fungo's stealing is discovered?

And it needs to taken in the context that he's making windfall record profits right now, and what's going on in the warehouses is downright guillotine worthy.

With the quarantine in effect, Amazon will be first company to make $2 gazillion in a year... bastard. There is not a company on this planet with more access to every supplier, supply chain and distribution system... He could easily be a planet hero...

I read that before.. and it really pissed me off... glad he's helping OTHER countries.. and in bed with WHO (who are in bed with his Chinese buds.. and the org that said all was OK)
but what are you doing for people who live within one hour of your front door

Of course, maybe they are all doing tremendously good and charitable deeds and just not running to the media to brag about it?

Actually I looked at the list of USA billionaires.. and with the exception of Cuban... and not even sure of him.. I suspect every one of these narcissistic bastards would make sure the media blasts their name if they so much as donated toilet paper

To paraphrase George Bailey about Mr. Potter: He's not giving it away. Don't you understand, Mr Bezos is buying. He's buying good publicity and political cover for when those warehouse workers start dropping like flies.

I’ve made my feelings clear about Amazon. Don’t use them, and never will. From a regulatory standpoint, Amazon is a beacon of safety in the warehouse logistics game. Ever worked at UPS? Good lord is it awful. Just saying, not trying to start shit.

They haven’t paid a dime in taxes since you taught them accelerated depreciation. Thanks man!!

Just wait til I clue them in that the CARES Act fixed an issue from the TCJA and they can use 168 bonus depreciation on QIP again!

I did. I did two months of loading trucks on holiday graveyard shifts down in Obetz. I still have nightmares of looking down the belt and seeing this monstrous unending mound of Hickory Farms boxes heading my way. That being said, I also remember scheduled breaks and fairly stringent safety regs....even for us temporary non-union guys. And the union drivers had and have really good middle class lives. It's no way comparable to what goes on in Amazon warehouses, where a man was literally left on the ground for an hour with a heart attack and died before they finally got around to stopping work and helping him. And within five minutes of them taking the body away, the announcement came over the speakers to "get back to work." I can link you all the Guardian articles about what's going on in the warehouses.
