But you didn’t answer the question. Should ~100% of people test positive for exposure in an antibody test? Because there is a county in Colorado who is attempting to test everyone in the county right now.

If there’s a god damn antibody test for this fucking thing then I want it and I want it now so that if I’ve had it and have recovered I can take my fucking spring break trip to Puerto Rico.

I’ve got two new parafoil kites (5M and 2.5M) that ain’t going to drink their own beer and fly themselves.

There is one, but it isn’t being extensively offered yet.

Not a doctor, but I think the current swab tests aren't antibody tests. This article says scientists are trying to develop a blood-based test which would check for antibodies, and thus know who has ever been infected with it:

Blood tests could help battle COVID-19 in US

But that could soon change. Scientists are racing to develop a blood test that could detect COVID-19 as well as determine which individuals may be immune to it.

This blood-based methodology, called serology testing, also is referred to as antibody testing. According to experts, antibody tests will be helpful even as COVID-19 cases decline because they can determine how much of the population actually was exposed in the first place.

"It tells you that a person was infected with the virus" in the past, said Robert F. Garry, Ph.D., director of the Tulane Center of Excellence, Global Viral Network. "At some point when this is over, we want to go back and see how many people are infected in the community."

This made me chuckle. Bet they wished they had paid for Trump’s wall now.

https://news.yahoo.com/mexicans-demand-crackdown-americans-crossing-154146270.html

Mexican protesters have shut a US southern border crossing amid fears that untested American travellers will spread coronavirus.

Residents in Sonora, south of the US state of Arizona, have promised to block traffic into Mexico for a second day after closing a checkpoint for hours on Wednesday.

They wore face masks and held signs telling Americans to "stay at home".

Mexico has fewer than 500 confirmed Covid-19 cases and the US over 65,000.

The border is supposed to be closed to all except "essential" business, but protesters said there has been little enforcement and no testing by authorities.

The current swab tests are for active infection, not antibodies, correct. The antibody test has been developed and is now being tested...Maddow had the county official from Colorado on last night talking about testing their entire county with an antibody test, which should be cheaper and easier to mass test, although it takes 2 blood tests over 14 days.

An antibody test sounds like a good way forward as it could help identify possible antibody "donors" that could possibly treat the infected. I should ask my sister about this as she was a blood bank specialist.

"NIH failed to test coronavirus drugs, but studied drunk monkeys, soap operas, and tailgating instead. Wasteful spending may render 87.5 percent of studies useless, key expert warned agency"

So everyone is locking down and now less people will die...isn’t that...what we want?

Can't wait till the end of this when people point to the numbers talking about how it wasn't nearly as bad as the 'chicken littles' said it'd be, meanwhile completely ignoring the completely unprecedented measures taken to mitigate infection and death.
