Exploited? I hope it will at least be explored. If the reports are true, he shot himself in the chest, possibly to preserve his head for testing. It has happened before.

It will be EXPLOITED because that's what the mediots in our country do to stories that draw viewers.

Where did you get that?

I think he's unclear what you mean by "exploited", because I am as well. There has been a rash of deaths of (relatively) young football players, wrestlers, and boxers...isn't it good to be asking about the long term effects of head trauma? What would be exploitative about that?

It's newsworthy, but others will use it to further there own agenda while getting webhits at the same time...

I guess I don't understand what the agenda would be that is forwarded? If you mean just straight sensationalist exploitation for people to tune in, like they did with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, etc., then OK, I get that. But people concerned about head trauma...I don't see that as exploitative.

Yes, and the media doesn't give a flip about head trauma or sadly, who has died. They care only about ratings.

I ran into him a couple times in March while I was in Oceanside. REALLY nice guy. seriously soft spoken and friendly. I HATED him as a player because I am a Bronco fan and I miserably watched him pump his fist all over the place every time he thumped another Bronco.

Both times I saw him, he was relaxed, chilling with his friends... He looked very content. Just about the last guy I would expect to have killed himself. I told my coworker today when the story broke who was with me out in Cali, and his jaw dropped, "WTF?! That is shocking, he was a happy guy?"

Pretty sad I asked him questions about his possible induction to the HOF in two years and he won't be there to enjoy it. RIP Junior.

This is also a MASSIVE issue for troops returning from the war zones.

Undeniable. Not sure why it's relevant to this story yet. Right now, it's a sad story and Seau's life at least deserves top billing in the sports headlines today.

I'm certainly interested to hear if there's a back story.
