Comparisons between LSU v OSU defensive personnel

Strength of Schedule

Ohio State - 75th. It is entirely possible that your defensive stats are padded because you hardly played any good teams this year.

Please be sure to read the 'Behind the Numbers' section of the Title Game preview that will posted sometime this week. It will be in the 'Additional Info' portion.

Maybe if we had let one of the 4 or 5 loss teams we played beat us we would have moved that SOS up a little?

The difference between tOSU's schedule and LSU's schedule is the direction of the Washington program from when they were scheduled. LSU didn't play that tough of a schedule, either. Since neither school played a schedule as tough as UCLA or South Florida we should probably just let this argument go by the wayside.

Interesting,

LSU has played
No. 9 Virginia Tech
No. 12 South Carolina
No. 9 Florida
at No. 17 Kentucky
No. 17 Auburn
at No. 17 Alabama
No. 14 Tennessee

OSU
No. 23 Purdue
at No. 25 Penn State
No. 21 Wisconsin
at No. 21 Michigan

yeap, no difference in those schedules...

Of course that couldn't possibly be because the media is in love with the SEC....remember the "populated-areas" are out to get the SEC in the first place :roll1:

That is entirely possible, but with the growing, OSU over LSU fad, the love for the SEC is disappearing. Hey here is a concept, maybe the SEC is a tougher conference and that is reflected in the rankings.

:slappy: Keep telling yourself that.......

Horseshit. no conference was appreciably better than any other conference this year.

and again you've succeeded in moving us off of comparing Ohio State and LSU defensive personnel into the meaningless and ultimately futile pissing contest about SOS, conference strength and how the SEC is better than the AFC.

Actually, I compaired OSU vs. LSU. LSU played more ranked and better teams. It was you that made the silly statement about ranks being a function of love for the SEC, not me. LSU has beat better teams than OSU this year and should beat them on Jan 7th.

Kentucky 7-5

Care to try again?

BTW, when using rankings it's best to do them at the END of the season. I'll give you Florida, Auburn (sortof because offensively they are a mess) and Virginia Tech.

Don't you dare use Tennessee. They gave up 45 to Cal, 59 to Florida and 41 to Alabama. LSU's prolific offense could only muster 14 against them.
