Some interesting notes:

1. The Winningest Program in College Football hasn't done so well in the 21st Century. From 1879 to 2000, Michigan had a record of 805-262-36, for a winning percentage of .746 (2nd best in CFB). From 2001 to 2015, Michigan has a record of 120-69, for a winning percentage of .635 (23rd best in CFB), or 111 points below their performance in the 19th and 20th Centuries.

2. Notre Dame has regressed even further in the 21st Century. From 1887 to 2000, Notre Dame had a record of 776-241-42, for a winning percentage of .753 (best in CFB). From 2001 to 2015, Notre Dame has a record of of 116-72, for a winning percentage of .617 (28th in CFB), or 136 points below their performance in the 19th and 20th Centuries.

3. On the other hand, Ohio State has clearly been the best program in the 21st Century, with the most wins (162), best winning percentage (.831), most major bowl victories (8), and tied (with Oklahoma) for most conference championships (8). Ohio State also has two national championships, trailing only Alabama which has four.

4. Oklahoma is second in wins (159) and winning percentage (.795), but the Sooners have choked on the big stage. After winning the last national championship of the 20th Century, Oklahoma is 3-6 in major bowl games, including 0-3 in BCS Title Games and 0-1 in CFB Playoff Games.

5. Miami began the 21st Century with 24 straight wins, their first loss coming against Ohio State in the 2002 BCS Title Game. Since that 24-game winning streak, Miami has a record of 100-65 (.606 winning percentage).

6. From 1970 to 2000, Nebraska played in 22 major bowl games, compiling a record of 13-9 and winning five national championships. Nebraska lost to Miami in the 2001 BCS Title Game and has not played in a major bowl in the following 14 seasons.

7. Despite Baylor's recent success, they still have a losing record (89-94) in the 21st Century.

8. It's hard to believe that the lowly Kansas Jayhawks actually have a BCS bowl victory to their credit. Kansas went 12-1 in 2007 and capped the season with a 24-21 win over #3 Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl. Take out that aberration of a season and Kansas's record since 2001 falls to 53-115 (.315 winning percentage).

9. Illinois (.390 winning percentage) is the worst team to win a conference championship in the 21st Century. The Fighting Illini won the Big Ten title way back in 2001. That same year, Colorado (.394 winning percentage) also won the Big XII conference title.

10. Alabama has only four conference titles since 2001. However, the Crimson Tide have also won four national championships during that span.

11. Despite the claim that the SEC has been the best conference top to bottom, the SEC has had the fewest different teams win a conference title since 2001. The Big Ten, Big XII, and Big East had 7 different champions; the PAC-12 and ACC had 6 each; while the SEC had only 5 (Alabama, Louisiana State, Auburn, Georgia, and Florida).

12. Duke has been the worst Power5 team since 2001, with an overall record of 58-124 (.319 winning percentage), but the Blue Devils' record against other Power5 teams is even worse: 31-112 (.217 winning percentage).

13. Duke began the new millennium with a record of 10-71 (.123 winning percentage) from 2001 to 2007. Since then the Blue Devils record has been an almost respectable 48-53 (.475 winning percentage).

14. I have restored all vacated wins and titles and used only the results that actually occurred on the field, and not in some fantasy world created by the NCAA.

15. Also, please note that some current Power5 teams (TCU, Louisville, Rutgers, Utah) have not been in a Power5 conference for the entire 21st Century. I have used each team's overall record from 2001 to 2015 and have not removed wins and losses from their non-Power5 seasons. However, I have listed only Power5 conference championships for those teams.

10. Alabama has only four conference titles since 2001. However, each time that Alabama has won the SEC, the Crimson Tide have also won the national championship.

They were not conference champs for the rematch against LSU and they were conference champs last year, but lost to the Buckeyes. That 4 conference titles and 4 national champs is what stood out to me immediately. So how important is a conference championship? Bama has definitely taken advantage of their chances.

Also, Bama is 5-3 in major bowls. Those five wins all led to a NC. Whether it was the three BCS or the CFP this year. They are 5-1 when a NC is on the line and 0-2 in non-championship BCS games. This explains there excuse about the players not caring about the game.

Thanks - I corrected my post.
