Columbus Wild Dogs (IFL)

I caught the last half of the 4th quarter. They really played well on their last position managing the clock.

I was watching too. The ref that spotted the clock moving prematurely in the last 10 seconds, and blew the whistle before the third down play was snapped, also deserves some credit for being alert.

Agreed. It wasn't the Buckeyes but it was pretty cool watching a team from Columbus come back like that. Had the ref not noticed the clock, maybe Columbus doesn't get the win.

Josh Bush

In the offseason, Destroyers receiver Josh Bush works out in his hometown of Miami with NFL players such as Chad Johnson.

No doubt the Bengals receiver has regaled Bush with stories about his spectacular catches.
Bush now has one for the can-you-top-this department. In the Destroyers' wild-card victory Saturday at Tampa Bay, Bush made a play that, considering the difficulty and circumstances, was every bit as impressive.

Destroyers march on with win over best

For The Columbus Dispatch

DALLAS -- One week after winning the franchise's first playoff game, the Destroyers pulled off their biggest upset.

With a 66-59 shocker over the Dallas Desperados, the Destroyers advanced to the National Conference championship against the winner of today's Georgia-Philadelphia game. As the eighth seed, the Destroyers will be the road team.
Trailing 38-28 entering the second half, the Destroyers pulled off two bizarre plays -- even by arena football standards -- that turned the game around in less than a minute. On the opening kickoff, Josh Bush recovered the ball after it bounced off a beam and rolled in from the 1-yard line for a touchdown, making it 38-35.

Arena Football
Destroyers getting victories, but no respect

Saturday, July 14, 2007 3:27 AM
By Bill Rabinowitz

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The Destroyers are coming off the biggest victory in franchise history and are one victory from reaching the ArenaBowl.

But in their minds, the rest of the Arena Football League considers them unworthy party crashers.
Since a 66-59 upset of the Dallas Desperados last week, the Destroyers have heard observers denigrate that victory as a combination of luck -- Columbus recovered consecutive kickoffs that deflected off the metal uprights -- and a choke job by Dallas.
So when the Destroyers meet the Georgia Force today for the National Conference championship, they will proudly carry the us-against-the-world banner.

Not too shabby...The Cindarella's of the AFL head into half-time with a 14 point lead and get the ball at the begining of the second half. My first Destroyer game that I've caught... but that Columbus Pride is coming out.:oh::io:
