Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Right now the sweet spot for the playoff berth looks to be 94 points.

That means they would need to get 17 points in their final 17 games to get there which would be exactly 50% (of course) of the possible points available.

While they do not have any games in hand (everyone is at 65 games played), they do have more ROWs over both Carolina and Pittsburgh, and it's likely that if all 3 ended up tied, Columbus would get the tie break. They also own that tie breaker against Montreal, the other current WC team.

The next 7 games are @NJ, @Pit, vs Pit, @NYI, vs Bos, vs CAR and @Bos - anything less than 10 points in that stretch and it's over and the Pittsburgh games as the Carolina game are all must win types.

If I had to bet, I'd bet on them missing the playoffs and topping out at around 85 points. This team looks like it's completely out of gas.

2-0

This team looks totally lost offensively. They are just skating along the boards and taking long wrist shots from the perimeter. That doesn't work in any era of the NHL - you have to work between the dots.

We all know what's coming here, yeah?

I’ll take it. Duchene looked more comfortable tonight. Oliver Bjorkstrand had one of his best performances in a while. Cam pulled to within 3 goals of tying the franchise record for goals in a season (Rick Nash- 41 goals). Josh Anderson scored his 100th point. All while Seth Jones didn’t have his best game (thankfully fat boy phil made up for Jones’ rough game)

They’re on a stretch of 12 of the last 15 games being against playoff contenders. Got New York Islanders, Boston, Carolina, Boston in the next four. 3 wins would go a long way in that span. After those four, the schedule mellows out a bit. Need the attack to continue to gel together.
