Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Biggest problem is that the next three games are must win. They're all ahead of us in the standings. We can't afford to give them more points. I think the last two should be must wins, but we can afford to win them in overtime at least.

Fuck yeah Jackets. Biggest problem they have right now is that all the teams around them have more games remaining.

Well that and the NHL's first tiebreaker is Regulation Wins. If it were head to head, they'd have the tie-breaker over Detroit. As much as I want the playoff streak to continue, the tie-breakers are fucking stupid. Head to head between two teams (and only two teams) should ALWAYS count more than regulation wins throughout the season.

detroit's schedule the next week or so isn't exactly a murder's row either. columbus moving to the 8 line is a pretty tough sell right now.

Also true - however for whatever reason this Detroit team loves playing down or up to whoever they are playing.

Detroit's big issue they are need to be in transition from the Cup years to a rebuilding phase, but their management and certainly the fanbase don't want to do it yet. The roster is stale, they've lost several hall of famers in the past few years along with some very key role players who are basically irreplaceable, and with the lack of high draft picks the last couple decades, the minors are stacked with guys who could be gems (like Datsyuk) or complete busts (like Quincey), but no one knows, because the Wings decide to resign guys like Bert and Sammy :smash:
