Voracek couldn't hit blow in a room full of Lindsay Lohans tonight. He missed the open net like 5 times in the last 3 minutes and was beating himself in the head with his stick at the end :lol:

Still, they hung with them and grinded out a competitive game, even though they were outclassed with the puck by the Red Wings. Some promising signs, even in defeat, and they didn't play so bad they had to burn the 3rds after 1 game.

The CBJ played well enough to win....in fact I wouldn't have been shocked to see them win.

Had the Wings not lost to Atlanta the other night, I think the Jackets might have ended up pulling it out, but Detroit played with a bit more urgency than they have of late....

Another game where they more or less carried the play, especially early, but you have to score at least a goal per period against teams like the Wings who tend to look completely lost on offense at times and then score in bunches.

That 5 on 3 kill was one of the reasons that I think the Wings are the best team in the NHL right at this moment.

Don Cherry had a 3rd jersey on set and gave the Blue Jackets some positive pub on Coach's Corner Saturday...it's the first time I have ever heard him mention Columbus at all (including the big crowd for the Detroit game), so that is a good sign.

tonight's game will be a pretty decent barometer whether or not this team is going to continue to contend for the playoffs.

they had 2 tough losses after being on a good run. good teams find a way to win tonight. Teams that are destined to miss the playoffs get blown off the ice.
