As an aside, anyone who's going in for a colonoscopy needs to watch that episode of the Ted tv show. In fact, watch it regardless. Watch all the episodes because that show kicks huge amounts of ass.

Too soon old, too late smart
As a member in the early winter of ones years, have had my share of colonoscopies. Have always been told, 'you'll be semi-awake for this'. Well, have never remembered/felt anything, just remember counting down, and then waking up. Same with cataract surgery...anyone else?

I was awake watching them administer the anesthesia and next thing I knew I was in recovery talking to the nurse about my results, it was like a blink of the eyes

Definitely awake for both my cataract surgeries. I was pretty out of it but could hear the tools and follow the doc's instructions to "look up" or "look left." Also was aware that he was listening to the Grateful Dead while drilling into my eyeball.

Last time I had a colonoscopy I asked the doc where to put my pants. He said “over there next to mine”
