Its tragic that more tOSU players did not get drafted. I feel for those left behind. However, it is good to see Hankins go before Gholston.

But moving on to crass statistical analysis, Wiscy and Michigan State were hit harder than tOSU, losing some of their run game, but tOSU was hit harder than tSUN, most notably of course, on the d-line.

tOSU: lost 3 (2 DT, 4 DE, 7 OT)
tSUN: lost 2 (5 WR, 6 DT)
mstat: lost 3 (2 RB, 4 DE, 4 TE)
Wiscy: lost 3 (1 C., 2 RB, 5 OT)

How does this affect the College Football Playoff(TM)?

Seems to me that this Playoff system is set up to: a) Perpetuate the myth that football is a warm weather only sport, b) Conclude that college football can't draw a crowd in a cold weather site. c) Help the SEC, Texas and USC, and d) Surrender the northern quarter of the US TV market to the NFL

Don't kid yourself. The Big Ten most certainly wanted on-campus semifinal games. Problem is, they didn't have the votes. Delany's smart enough to realize he'd be fighting a losing battle if he insisted on on-campus semifinal games.

Now that it seems to be OBE (military term that fits the situation perfectly, Overcome By Events) I have to wonder why Delany rolled over. If Texas can hold their breath and get the bulk of the Big Number-of-the-Month-Club to cave to their incessant demands, why can't the Big 10 stand up for parity? As Big 10 commish he should have powerful friends in Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Minneapolis and Milwaukee with the level of corporate swagger it takes the hold your breath until the other side makes a concession. Answer, lackawanna. Delaney and the schools didn't have the will to fight. Without Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Nebraska you don't have a NATIONAL playoff.

Two thoughts, 1. if ND was in the Big 10, Delaney would have the power to get a concession. 2. Allowing the Bowls to continue to hold the reins on post season play means they will continue to hold on to all the bowl revenue and free exposure. this is a detrement to the teams, the conference, the schools, the fans of those programs and the region.

Report: Playoff selection committee to include current ADs

The College Football Playoff selection committee is beginning to take shape.

According to a report from the Sporting News, the committee will include current athletic directors, former coaches and players and possibly former media members. While the total number of members isn't know, it's reported that one athletic director from each of the five power conferences -- ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC -- will be represented.

As for conflicts of interest, if an athletic director's school is being considered for the playoff, that athletic director will leave the room while the other members vote on that team.

It is not known how often the committee will meet or how often the committee will release a poll of the top teams in the country.

In May, Bill Hancock, the executive director of the College Football Playoff, said "athletic directors are eligible now, but that could change." Apparently, it did not.

The first year of the College Football Playoff will be the 2014 season.

Interesting piece from the WWL about the upcoming BCS Championship sites.
Seems to be treated just like the NCAA Tournament, cities can bid on hosting the game.

Cities that definitely will bid for the Jan. 11, 2016, game: Glendale, Ariz.; Jacksonville, Fla.; New Orleans; San Antonio; and Tampa.

Cities that will bid for the Jan. 9, 2017, game: Arlington; Jacksonville; Miami; New Orleans; San Antonio; and Tampa.

Houston, Nashville, Tenn., San Francisco, San Diego and Washington, D.C., are other cities that have shown interest in pursuing future College Football Playoff championship games.

New York Yankees officials have said they were interested in Yankee Stadium hosting a championship game, but the stadium does not met the minimum seating requirement.

Will someone please get a hold of Chicago? This is just a sell out of Midwest football.

There's no way that the SEC would ever allow Chicago to hold one. IMO, the one Midwest place that the B1G should push is Indy. They can't argue about the inclement weather, and then there is FINALLY an important game in the Midwest.

Edit: damn you Bucknut......
