There's no way that the SEC would ever allow Chicago to hold one. IMO, the one Midwest place that the B1G should push is Indy. They can't argue about the inclement weather, and then there is FINALLY an important game in the Midwest.

Edit: damn you Bucknut......

I feel the same way about San Fransisco.

Despite the fact that the stadium will host a Superbowl, I just can't see the PAC 12 allowing another California location to host the game. Pasadena or bust seems to be the motto.

Is that the new 49ers stadium in Santa Clara or a remodeled existing stadium in San Francisco?

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...o-release-four-rankings-during-2014-15-season

As the Executive Director of both the BCS and the College Football Playoff, Bill Hancock has and will spend most of his 2013-14 academic year working on the transition to college football's new four-team playoff, which will begin in the 2014-15 season.

One aspect of the BCS that has helped shape the chase for a national title has been the release of seven different BCS standings during the year. With so many comparisons to the college basketball selection committee, which only meets at the end of the season to select and seed the field, there has been some concern that transparency is being removed from the process.

Hancock previously announced that there would be some type of rankings released by the selection committee during the season, but on Thursday he shared some of the specifics regarding that process.

"It's a new paradigm," Hancock said of the new system. "There will not be any master computer rankings. There will not be weekly announcements, like we have our BCS standings show, although the committee will be making about four announcements during the season -- so that will be pretty close. We have seven BCS standings, so going to four in the future, I don't think folks will notice a lot of difference in that."

As Hancock said in the video above, there is plenty more planning to come over the next few months before we have a full understanding of the new system.

I had enough trouble buying tickets, getting hotels and flight from Ohio to Miami in a month for the orange bowl. Not to mention sleepless nights of worrying about selling rose bowl tickets. BTW, it took 2 weeks after selection sunday for them to get the tickets printed and overnighted to me. Throw in the difficulties of holiday travel, and how do they expect anyone to do this in a week?

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see it in the 4-team. Some schools have that sense of entitlement -- even if there's no reason for it; such as Oregon.
Can you imagine Oregon traveling to a Semifinal in Florida or Louisiana if they're matched against a seeded SEC school (and realistically, they are going to be 1/2 seed every year)?
Or down to Texas if they're matched against a B12 seed?

Can't wait until the novelty wears off, and they have 1/3 empty stadiums for the first round. It might not happen in a four team format, but I guarantee it's inevitable in an 8 team format without home field game.

Very true. I don't know how anyone is going to get tickets and their travel arrangements in between Jan 1st and Jan 6th. Some years the playoff will be as late as Jan 3rd... The national title will be half empty, particularly if it's any west coast schools playing in the southeast. I said it from the beginning, the semi's don't need to be established bowls. They can just be semi's and have them take place 2 weeks after the title games, giving 2-3 weeks for people to buy tickets and make their plans. Dream scenario because at that point you can't expand past 4 teams because the major bowl committees won't allow it. The Sugar and Rose want to at least have the #1 or #2 team from the conferences not the 3rd best team. If you can't tell, I hate the idea of the playoff expanding. I still have the old mindset of the Rose Bowl is where the Big Ten champ should end up. BCS will destroy the Rose Bowl in the end. I miss 1997.
