Majority opinion (at least on BP) is that Ohio State fans didn't want a rematch and didn't agure for it.

Your claim is further damaged by the fact that both UM and Ohio State were blown out against supposed inferior opponents. Granted, that could have happened this year if Alabama had played Stanford in the Sugar Bowl and Okie State played LSU in the title game.

Ohio State and M*ch*g*n had just played the greatest game in the history of The Game. of course there would be a letdown. both Woody and Bo said that their bowl records were not as good as they could have been because the bowl was nowhere near as important as winning The Game.



the LSU-Bama game was a snoozefest last year. the rematch was even more mind numbing. in fact it was the lowest rated game in BCS history.
the SEC circle jerk might be fun and all, but the rest of the country doesn't give a shit and doesn't tune in.
EVERYONE who wasn't the SEC wanted Oklahoma State and LSU last year. the ratings back that up.

Not surprising. It starts out with that veneer of fake Southern genteel manners, but as soon as he started getting challenged on his facts and assumptions, it quickly devolved into nothing more substantial than SEC!SEC!SEC!

This years game was the first in television history NOT to be broadcast over the public airwaves on National Network Television AKA ABC, NBC, or CBS. It was broadcast on cable ONLY on ESPN. That limited the audience to cable subscribers only. That and that alone is why the ratings were affected. Using the ratings as a point of attack is BS! Complete and utter BS!

Reason and facts don't seem to matter to some - but I'll keep bringing facts and reason to expose the unreasonable.

Do you have a link to prove this assertion? I don't doubt that it has an impact, but I don't know how you can state unequivocally that this is the only reason.
