just because TCU beat Bucky, does not make what he said wrong.

Yes it does....along with the New Years Day massacre of the Big 10. Gee called playing in the Big 10 "murderers row" but the only one that got murdered New Years Day is the Big 10. That along with the obvious protectionism of the BCS cartel more than qualifies Gee's comments as wrong. In fact, Gee must agree: "I'm going to New Orleans tomorrow, and Antoine's is a great restaurant there, Gee said. "I think they serve crow, and I?ll be eating my portion of that. T.C.U. played a great game, and they deserved to be recognized for that. Obviously T.C.U. is a great ball team."

Anyone who thinks we have a legitimate system in place for determining a true national champion is NUTS. Gee's comments support the current cartel that keeps this system in place. I love my Buckeye's dearly but not owning up to this as a fan is just crazy. Gee was dead wrong.

Welcome to the world of opinions and assholes.

So, you really think we have a legitimate system for saying who is the best team and crowning them champion? And if tOSU was in the position of TCU this year undefeated or Auburn undefeated a few years ago you would defer to the team hoisting the crystal ball as being the best? Gimme a break. You would be outraged. Admit it.

Can't speak for Muffler, and this isn't the correct thread for debating playoffs, but if Ohio State had gone undefeated and failed to make the championship game, I would say what I say to 2003 Auburn - play a harder schedule then.

Now... if you'd like to continue your rant on why the BCS sucks, do it in the right thread.

Cheers,

Commish.

Besides beating a dead horse even more as this particular topic has been discussed ad nauseum, I'll entertain a few snippets and then this can be moved to the proper thread if you really need to keep it going.

1) Legitimacy. This is a non sequitur of epic proportions. The BCS Champion as it is crowned now is no less legitimate than the team that would hypothetically get hot at the end of the season and win a tournament. In honor of BKB, I refer you to Villanova '85.

2) Hypotheticals. If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts; then we'd all have a merry-fucking christmas. Ultimately, IF tOSU would have been undefeated this year; then I would rely on the system to determine who should play. As it ends up, the S.O.S. for the Buckeyes may have been suspect this year; thus, it's on tOSU for not scheduling a tougher schedule. That's on the Athletic Department. Thus, there's not a damn thing that inclines me to "Admit it".

You didn't answer the question. You would feal the same way if tOSU were TCU this year or Auburn a few years ago? Save the fancy ad nauseum verbage and answer the freaking question.

Go to the right thread, Joe. This topic has been discussed for years. You are saying nothing new, and I really don't think anyone wants to repeat themselves, again, because you want a freaking answer.

HI. Remember me? I'm E. Gordon Gee and this thread is about me. I don't think BKB was kidding when he asked you to take this [Mark May].. excuse me.. stuff... to the appropriate thread.

If I didn't know better, I'd say that you're running out of warnings.

It's about validating Gee's opinions. Why doesn't it belong? I'll meet anyone over on the other thread that feels this is a defendable position but before I leave Gee's thread, let me say again that his comments about "Little Sisters of the Poor" were clearly wrong. He even admited it. Therefore, the protectionism of the cartel implied by the comment is also wrong. It's an elitist comment that supports a flawed system of determining a national champion. It's simply the wrong side of the argument, a side by the way that is dwindling every day in it's support. Ask most fans in the country and every year they will be less and less that support the BCS. FACT. Pull up a chair with Gee on the Titanic if you like but you will drown.

In your opinion.

Fans don't make the decision. Money does. We have it, they don't. We can generate it, they can't. Your argument is simplistic and I would invite you again to go to the proper thread. You will learn something...

Here's the FACT

You're not talking about Gee's comments, you're asking people to debate the merits of a playoff or the BCS.

So, I didn't comment in the right forum? You just don't like the direction it's going so you tell me to take it to a different forum. Gimme a break. How convenient.

I would have been disappointed but would have realized that it was the price to pay for the stupid policy of scheduling three mac teams every year.

Regarding Gee, the first half of his comment (murderer's row and little sisters of the poor) was ill advised and poorly worded. The second half about going back to the old bowl system was spot on and echoed a week later by the commisioners. The B10, P10 and Rose Bowl don't want a playoff. That's their right. Fuck these whiney mid major biitches. Nobody is stopping THEM from having their playoff, but they demand that we come along otherwise they know damn well that 95% of the country won't give a shit.

Gee was perfectly entitled and correct to tell them to go get their fucking shinebox and have their playoff...just don't expect us to come along.

You don't sound like an Ohio State fan. Trashing Gee and your crap about an elitist system and the bcs "cartel" sound like it was pulled straight from the truck driver u board.
