College Football Playoff (2015-16 Season)

Basically the committee is god and they can do whatever the fuck they want using whatever rationale they want like last year when the Buckeyes jumped from 5 to 4 over #3 TCU after there was ***no chaos*** the final weekend unless you consider Ohio State running roughshod over Wisky's defense chaos.

Again, Ohio State needs MSU to clean Iowa's clock and let the chips fall where they may.

The only people who know what the committee will do relative to tOSU making the playoff if one of the Top Four Minus Iowa and MSU loses this weekend are on the committee.

very true

but when humans are involved in decision making there is a very reliable predictor that will help you be right more often than you are wrong

follow the money

No, but then again M*ch*gan hasn't taken 20 years off even being merely slightly above average like Texas did between Darrel Royal and Mack Brown....
Michigan didn't have anything remotely resembling Texas' near-decade-long run of double-digit win seasons from 2001-2009 which included a combined record on 101-16 and an undisputed national title. Michigan has not had a streak of double-digit win season longer than three since Schembechler's four-year run from 1971-1974. Michigan has but one measly split national title in almost 70 fucking years, while Texas has three undisputed and one split national title since 1963.

As for taking "20 years off even being merely slightly above average", you may want familiarize yourself with Michigan's record from 1951-1967 (17 years) during which they went 85-68-4 (.554) with a grand total of one conference title (1964).

I can assure you, they are not waiting for chaos to happen before having these conversations. They are having these discussions the same as we are.
That is correct. They have a meeting Friday night.

Bill Hancock was on the radio tonight. He said just because winning a conference championship game was the deciding factor last year, does not mean it will be this year. He said they are just trying to get the four best teams.

Him saying that, to me, makes the loss to MSU not as bad as the other lackluster games.

This and the fact the results come out on Sunday. I'm sure they're watching the games and opinions will be formed soon after. Major chaos would be great, but a top 2 loss may be enough.
