I think the chance of the committee choosing a non-conf champ, attractive though they may be, over a conf champ with same record that just defeated #1 is about the same - if not less - than Florida beating Bama.
Neither are very likely. Skull fucking somebody in Pasadena is not a bad ending though.

The committee should take a long hard look at Oklahoma vs. Ohio State
Oklahoma wont play in a conference championship game either.
Ohio State has a better defense and we didn't lose to a 7 loss garbage team like Texas.

That would be an interesting playoff,
MSU can try to get revenge for the 49-7 Pounding Bama laid on them in their 2010 bowl
OSU can try to get revenge for the loss to Clemson in the Bowl that injured Braxton

Yea I think it will be close, but probably a slight edge to stanford. But for UNC, I think they would need to beat Clemson convincingly to jump Stanford and OSU.

Clemson gets beat by UNC

Stanford gets beat by USC

Final Four of Oklahoma, Michigan State, Ohio State, UNC.

Ohio State claims a repeat title.

Intriguing because if there is an upset of Clemson or Bama, the committee has a choice:

Do they do what they did last year with Ohio State and honor Stanford with a spot because they are their conference champion?

Or

Do they honor Ohio State and show more value to only having 1 loss over 2 losses?
